At the UDA National Dance Team Championship held at Walt Disney World, the McIntosh High School Chiefettes dance team made school history.
Pantherettes lend a hand at homeless shelter
Each year, the Starr’s Mill Pantherette Dance Team gives back. They collect toboggan caps and water bottles for the men of the Central Presbyterian Night Shelter in Atlanta and serve them a warm meal, along with homemade desserts. The girls love to brighten the day of people who might be struggling and also perform one of their dance routines. Photo/Special.
Twirlers take top honors
The DMA Georgia State Championship was held in Calhoun on May 9. Carly Baker (a freshman from Starr’s Mill) won the Sr. Division “Miss Majorette of Georgia” title as well as the state twirl-off. Savannah Mathis (a junior from Whitewater) won the Sr. Division “Georgia Princess” and “Most Beautiful Majorette” titles. Both girls will advance to the Nationals to be held at Gardner Webb University this summer. Photo/Special.
