Hoops teams prepare for holiday tournaments

McIntosh’s Lady Chiefs defeated Northgate 44-28 on Tuesday. Laura Higgason led the way for McIntosh with 16 points and four rebounds, while Gabby Seiler had 11 points, three steals and four assists. Shelbi Sims and Danette Hinton each had eight rebounds.

The McIntosh boys won 53-40. Junior Jay Manning led the Chiefs with 16 and fellow junior Chris Longoria and senior Josh Ball each contributed 11.

McIntosh will play at Whitewater Saturday night (girls at 6 p.m., boys at 7:30 p.m.). The boys (4-5) and girls (6-2) will play in the Chuck Miller Classic starting next Friday.

Weekend wins for McIntosh, Landmark and Sandy Creek boys

Landmark’s girls basketball team defeated Yeshiva 27-25 on Saturday. Santricia Hight (17 points) hit a 15-footer with 1.7 seconds left to give Landmark the win. Michal Holby added six points.

Sandy Creek teams split with Whitewater on the court

Sandy Creek’s boys defeated Whitewater 63-40 on Thursday night.

Mustangs place second in national championship

Thunder third at national championships

The Peachtree City Thunder 11u basketball team finished third in the nation at the YBOA Division 1 national championships held in Orlando the week of June 27 thru July 4.

Demons qualify for Nationals

Panther Basketball Camp, June 22-25

Starr’s Mill’s Panther Basketball Camp will take place June 22-25 at the Starr’s Mill gym. The fee is $75 and guest speaker Drew Barry will offer a one hour shooting instruction session. The deadline to register is June 12. Walk-up registration on June 22 will be $85. Applications can be downloaded at www.starrsmillhighschool.com

FCHS/WHS Summer All-Star Basketball Camp

Session I: June 15-18 @ Whitewater ~ Session II: July 13-16 @ Fayette County. Camp is Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., open to boys and girls rising 2nd-8th grade. Cost: $150 per camper. Campers must bring a lunch. Camp is lead by Coach Andre’ Flynn of FCHS & Coach Brent Jackson of WHS plus current and former players. To register call: 770-716-7844.
