Tanis earns accolades for freshman year at Mercer
After earning Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman honors in May, Mercer freshman third baseman Jacob Tanis added to his list of postseason awards when he landed a spot on the 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team recently. The award is chosen by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

11/12 Brooks Blue Majors make state tournament
The Brooks Blue Majors team won the 11/12 year old Little League District 4 championship on Friday July 3 by and 8-6 score over the Peachtree City White Majors.

Starr's Mill honors top baseball players
The Starr’s Mill varsity baseball team held their annual end of the season banquet recently. They presented awards to their top players.
Muckdogs are sub-state champs
The Fayette Muckdogs were the champions of the USSSA 10U Sub-State Tournament held in Peachtree City. They played and won four consecutive games on June 14 to win this title.
Chili Dogs are state champs again
The 12U Home Plate Chili Dogs went 6-0 against the best in Georgia to take their third consecutive AAU Georgia state championship.
